How to discipline a 1yr old?

Please help. How can I discipline my 22 months old? She tries it!!!! When we are out, she screams, kicks, pushes things away and just acts out. She does the same thing indoors too. Is it too early to start disciplining? How do you do it? I don’t want her growing up to be one spoilt brat as a teenager

Well considering your child is one and still a baby, you cannot use the same methods as a 2 year old. 
Say no, and please don’t do that. 
However you have to understand that this is a baby, incapable of communicating their feelings and needs/wants with appropriate verbal language, so they react by emotional outbursts. Try to find the root of the emotional outbursts.

Kids just want attention. It doesn’t matter if it’s good (praise) or “bad” (verbal reprimand) attention. 
So try to ignore the bad behavior and praise the heck out of the good behavior. (Unless they bad behavior dangerous, then obviously that’s a different scenario).

We used the word NO  alot and DON'T TOUCH but 1 is still a little too young to really be punished per say. I think we started timeouts closer to 2 2.5

Unfortunately, they have just started the terrible twos a bit early.  You are going to a year of pushing boundaries to which your no is only going to match their no.  There isn't much you can do to discipline that will be understood as cause and effect doesn't develop until some point at age 3 and not fully understood until 4 or 40 depending on who you are.

I have a nurse who works for the state who comes to my house every two weeks and my daughter is 9months. She told me to basically say no and direct her attention to something else. Hope it helps!

She’s basically 2. She understands a lot more than you think. A firm “No.” that isn’t yelling but isn’t whiny and frustrated will go a lot way. For me, my daughter is 14 months old, and when she’s doing something she isn’t supposed to, I go “Hey!” Short, voice a little raised, gets her attention so I can redirect her to do something else.

I use the word "no" firmly. Redirection and distraction works. No matter what the age, if my kids act up in public the activity stops and we go home. And for serious things like hitting etc. I found a one or two minute time out worked. Yes, even at 1. Children are smarter than we think and they look for attention any way they can get it. Remaining calm and authoritative is key. The second you lose your cool, or give in even once, it signals them that they can get a rise out of you or win if they fight hard enough. Consistency, consistency, consistency!

My patience gets tested so much with my son not listening. I just try to redirect him and hope it works lol. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn’t.
