Ovulation kit help

So this Tuesday I took an ovulation kit test. First time doing so. The line was lighter than the control line. I assumed that meant ovulation was coming to an end....is that wrong.... or did ovulation not even start yet. I didn’t have sex Tuesday or Wednesday BC Im sick so now I’m thinking I missed it.... Anyway... does the faint line mean ovulation is near its end or didn’t even start yet ???? please help!!! I google on the internet and I don’t get a straight answer ...
