10/22 Final update at bottom... TMI pic but I need help, please ❤

❤ Sarah ❤

I had my thyroid removed in June due to nodules with a strong family history of cancer, I was on thyroid medication prior to the surgery for hypothyroidism. My periods are very irregular so I knew it would be sketchy afterwards but my period completely disappeared until this month (October). It started off on October 7th, it was light up until a few days ago, I'm now on day 13 of bleeding and I'm filling up a pad every 1.5 to 2 hours, I'm passing clots the size of my fist, every time I go to the bathroom it looks like a murder took place and I usually have to shower right then. I go see my doc on Monday but I'm worried about what they might say, I DO NOT want a hysterectomy, I'm finally getting around to hopefully figuring my body out and fixing problems I've had for years because I finally have the right doctors helping me. Has this happened to anyone else? What did your doctor say?

Pic of clot, one of the smaller ones:

ETA: I took tons of pregnancy tests during the missing period timeframe, all negative. Blood tests were also negative.

Update #1: I'm at the ER, they've taken blood and done an exam so far. So now I'm just waiting under 2 heated blankets while I'm still cold.

Final update: So the ER was a waste of time. The bed was looking bad within 30 minutes because it got worse before I went in. I passed a huge clot literally during the doctor examining me, the nurses were worried but the doctor seemed to be an arrogant ass who really didn't care one way or the other. Because my blood count "came back good" he said that nothing was wrong and I could go but to keep my appointment Monday and hopefully the OBGYN can help. As soon as he found out that we couldn't use birth control to stop the bleeding because of my clotting disorders he just gave up. So I'm back home changing pads and clothes by the hour and hoping for the best. I'm tired, I'm weak, and I'm dizzy but apparently I'm just dandy 😖 I can't even.

FINAL UPDATE: Appointment went great. Since I can't do birth control, she put me on 5 mg of progesterone, 2 tablets a day with 40 in the bottle. They're scheduling a endo-vaginal ultrasound soon and calling me with the appointment. We did bloodwork and she had me pee in a cup. She did an exam too and swabbed. She said that what she THINKS it is, is where my periods have been irregular for so long and I don't have them normally that with my body getting the right amount of hormones that it's finally shedding everything that's built up, my uterine lining has never completely shed like it's supposed to. She says that's her guess unless ultrasound and bloodwork show different. We aren't sure why my periods went missing for a complete 3 months after I got on thyroid medicine but if its not on time after this then we will have to induce a period and find a way to make it as regular as possible. Past OBGYN's in the same office mentioned PCOS in my records but they never confirmed the diagnosis, so when I moved and seen another OBGYN, he did tests and bloodwork and diagnosed it, she called and had him fax over everything he found. We will be working on getting a regular period from here on out. I go back in 3 weeks.

* I chose my original OBGYN office because they know my history, I like my new OBGYN but he's hard to get into sometimes. I live in an area where I have to drive at least an hour in any given direction to get to an OBGYN, so I drove almost 2 hours yesterday one way to get to my old Dr office. My new one is still an hour away and I don't have history with him.
