St. John Wort supplement while breast feeding ?

Feeling a bit of the baby blues, I'm wondering if taking St. John Wort is okay while breastfeeding ?

I would not think so. Most herbal supps aren't regulated by the FDA so studies and tests can't really be done to say if it's safe or not. Definitely ask your doctor. Also St John's wort has many many other medication incompatibilities  and can change the way those meds act in the body...

How many weeks pp are you? Some sadness is normal as your hormones crash and then regulate. Normal being within the first two weeks. After two weeks and you’re still feeling sad, you should talk to your doctor. (Or talk to your doctor anyways.) PPD can be prevented or relieved by holding your baby more, smelling them, talking to them, and getting some sunshine. If these don’t help, or you feel too unstable to do those things, call your doctor immediately, or call 911.

You should not take it while breastfeeding unless advised and monitored by a doctor. 
Baby may have complications as it does transfer to breastmilk.
