Does anyone have experience with step kids when you have no children of your own? It feels like a 90/10 split of loving being around them and also feeling annoyed, especially with a Tween. More than once thinking “omg, I get the hormones, and I’m sorry for puberty, but if I could turn you over to your mom full time and save me and your dad the heartache of your drama...”

I feel bad thinking this but also, I think her own parents are probably tired of her at times too, in all honesty 😂

Recommendations? Just hunker down and hope for the best over the next 7 years? It’s not like I can just pay attention to my own kids and let him corral his. When he’s caught up in the drama they create, I’m just on the outside looking in. Plus I do like them, just not all the time! Is that wrong?
