Husband’s boss not paying on time: Pt. 2

Some of you may remember a post the other day regarding my husband’s boss not paying him and other previous employees on time, not following through with promises of insurance and pay raises, etc.

Well, there’s more to the developing story.

- my husband was promised insurance by November. He was granted paternity leave for a month. He was officially finished with paternity leave this past Friday the 18th.

- his boss suddenly laid him off via text message. Not even a phone call or explanation. She just laid him off, thanked him for working for her, and said she’s taking off to the other side of the state to work elsewhere. Leaving him jobless (he was our only source of income which his boss knew about.)

- after hearing from the other previous workers who were suddenly let go and didn’t receive payments for MONTHS, there is reason to believe the boss they worked for was never going to give insurance to begin with. Because none of them were ever employed with her long enough (had to work for 6 months) to ever see the insurance. She would come up with a bogus reason to let them go before the 6 month mark, which is exactly what she did to my husband.

- with how sketchy things have been... we also have reason to believe that there’s a possibility that my husband’s (now former) boss was either embezzling money or misappropriating funds at the clinic they were working at.

My husband will be filing for unemployment, and has already started job searching. We are glad he no longer works there... things were getting really weird really fast. Here’s to a job with more professionalism and transparency in the future.
