Anyone do IVF without birth control first?

Question

I'm aware of the benefits of taking birth control in terms of timing and stimulating more eggs but I have a very regular period and am also afraid of it being too suppressive. I have low amh, low ovarian reserve.

My first round of Ivf I did BC and got 5 eggs (2 embryos). Transferred one and froze one, but pregnancy was blighted ovum. Decided to do another retrieval and doc wants to not use BC this time because she thinks we might have a shot at more eggs. So it’s a valid protocol, but i can’t tell you yet how it went :) I have low

My first IVF cycle I  used birth control pills  and 15 eggs were retrieved.  
For my second IVF cycle I did not use bcp and 26 eggs were retrieved. 
Of course I have no idea if the birth control was the single factor that made the difference but I switched doctors after my first cycle  and my second doctor was very against using birth control in my case.

I did IVF without birth control first, it was supposed to be a IUI cycle using injectables (2 years ago and can’t remember the meds).  I overstimulated and we turned it into an IVF cycle.  I have PCOS and I got a lot of embryos (16) but I know that’s not normal to get that many.

Anyone do IVF without birth control first?
