For those against sleep training...

Ke

I saw a comment from another momma (actually more than one) saying it was awful to see so many people sleep training their littles. She said as a parent, it’s our job to sacrifice to meet the needs of our babies.

And she was totally right! It’s our jobs to do whatever it takes to have happy and healthy babies. But sometimes, your baby needs sleep! And as exhausted as you feel being up every hour, your baby is also feeing that same exhaustion!

I was scrolling through my pictures and saw some from our sleep regression days. And they absolutely break my heart because she has horrible bags under her eyes. And these bags were a daily occurrence. Sure, she’s smiling... but she was exhausted. In fact, she was seriously miserable for FOUR WEEKS until I decided that what she needed was rest. And the only way I was getting her to sleep was through sleep training. And believe me, I exhausted every single option before resorting to that.

So if it’s not for you, that’s fine! If you found another option, high five because I’m excited for you! I wish other options would have worked for her. But don’t make others feel guilty for choosing a different path if that path will ultimately benefit their baby.

This is mid-sleep regression on top, and tonight on the bottom. She wakes up 1-2 times a night and yes, I attend to those cries, feed, comfort, and lay her back down 💕 Sleep training does not mean abandoning your baby’s cries for the rest of eternity lol.
