Hi all! I’m planning on getting an appointment for an iud insertion here in the next couple weeks and was wondering what experiences y’all have had with Mirena? Especially if you have never had a child. I haven’t but I was wanting to get Mirena instead of Skyla due to its ability to treat heavy periods (mine are hellish lol). But I have heard that it’s not ideal to get Mirena if you haven’t had a baby yet. Anyone have any experiences/advice they can share? Does it really stop periods or is that a rare thing?
