Nicknames for James that aren’t Jim or Jimmy...?

My husband and I like the name James but can’t stand the nicknames Jim or Jimmy. If we decided to name our son James we would definitely tell people to not call him Jim or Jimmy...but I know people will come up with nicknames and we would like to maybe think of something we like to suggest to people instead. We’re not crazy about Jamie either. Honestly, if he could just go by James that would be great lol but there’s no guaranteeing he won’t want a nickname as he gets older. Thanks!

We just call our kids by their full name no matter what. People catch on and follow suit generally. As for what nickname you child may choose is al up to them. I had a cousin named Amanda and she went by Tony for a few years when she was about 7 we have no clue where that came from.

You don’t need a nickname, especially for a monosyllabic name like James. My daughter’s name is Madeline and that is what everyone calls her. If someone tries to call her Maddie I correct them, that’s not her name. If she’d like to go by Maddie as she grows up that’s her choice, but for now she’s a toddler and we as her parents set what people call her. 
I do call her Madelena as a pet name, but no one else would call her that. It’s like the lovey nickname your mom only calls you that embarrassed you when she uses it in front of your friends as a teenager. 😂

A nick name in my culture is something totally different. Lol. 
My son's name is Andrew but we call him nino. Nino is the nickname. 
Not drew or Andy. 
Id just tell people his name is James not Jimmy or Jim. Lol.

My husband's name is James. His mom calls him Jamie but literally everyone else just calls him James 🤷🏼‍♀️ No one has ever tried to call him Jim or Jimmy

My husband is james douglas. He hates being called jim or jimbo. So his parents called him Doug from is middle name. It was ok when he was a kid but now as an adult, professionally it's been frustrating for him to have that nickname and go by it. His mom has confessed she wish she was more strict in telling people not to calling him anything other than james (I personally love the name james and wouldn't let someone nickname him something else).
