Going Back to Work Soon?

Question

Is anyone going back to work soon? How are you doing looking for childcare? I'm having so much anxiety about finding a good one, I'm wondering if I should sacrifice going to work. Ugh, America! This is when it would be great to live elsewhere. What are some ways you went/are going about ensuring you have the right person?

We are so excited about our baby’s daycare but he doesn’t get to start until February. I was originally due in late October but now because my work didn’t do shit to work with me while my son was in the NICU, I’m supposed to go back in two weeks when we don’t have childcare. I have a meeting with my boss and assistant next week and we’re going to talk about options, but if they don’t agree to my terms (me needing to work from home at least two days a week until February) I’m going to have to quit. My son has special medication and oxygen needs still from the NICU and it’s not worth it to me to leave him alone when he’s so vulnerable just to go to a job I hate

We went with a learning center - she will start in February at 6 months. 
Besides the obvious stuff (licensed, clean, close to home), I found that I was excited about finding a place we could grow with over time. She will move into different rooms as she ages that’ll help her get ready for school with a ton of play time. The infant room also has huge windows with a ton of natural light. 
Good luck! Remember if you pick somewhere and it doesn’t work, you can always go somewhere else!

Today is my first day back and I am not excited about leaving my little girl. Luckily/ not so lucky my husband is a disabled veteran so he stays home with our girls. No daycare but sometimes I wish he could work so I could stay home with the kids.

I swore I wasn’t going back.... but 6 weeks later I started a new job 😂 honestly I just found something part time that works around my husband’s schedule, so my kiddos don’t go to a sitter or daycare.

I go back in two weeks! Where I live you have to get on waitlists for Daycares as soon as you find out you’re pregnant, to guarantee you get into one. I  visited two or three daycares that I got recommendations for. Being that I had never been in a daycare before, I didn’t really know what to expect. I basically just looked around to make sure the babies weren’t unclean and the rooms were clean. I also wanted to make sure the building was secure (key pad on the door and you have to sign in with a code as well), cameras in every room, etc. I also meet the teachers that would be dealing with my daughter everyday. I just had a good feeling about the one I went with, so I’m sure you will too!

I go back November 18. My mom will watch her from 6am-8am then my sister-in-law will watch her until my husband gets home around 4:15pm. I am a nurse and only work 3 12's a week (7a-7p).
