Newborn clothes?

Question

So I already had my baby shower and my son has a lot
of clothes, he probably won’t even be able to wear them
all. But they’re all 0-3 and some 3-6. I have about 4-5 newborn onesies. Is that enough? I know I should have some but not too many as some babies are too big for newborn. How many newborn clothes do y’all recommend?

I would probably grab a few more. 
I went through 5 outfit changes for my newborn the other day all thanks to poo explosions and him spewing. 😭

A lot of the 0-3 clothes I got fit her just fine newborn. As you lay it out you will probably notice huge differences in sizes... see if you got smaller 0-3 that would probably work.

I think that's plenty for now. I had about five vests and five onesies in newborn, just incase. You don't wanna waste your money if you have a big baby.
I would go and put a load of stuff in your online baskets, and then if you need them you can go ahead and order. I feel this day and age you can have stuff delivered the next day if you need it.
My baby stayed in size newborn until about 10 weeks. He then rocketed up and we only had about two weeks wear out his 0-3 and he was then straight to 3-6!

I thought my baby was going to be big so I didn't get a lot of newborn clothes. When she was born she was 8lb 3oz (so not a small baby). Now over 2 weeks later, she is still in newborn sizes and 0-3 month clothes are still way too big. After she was born we ended up having to buy a few more newborn things.

Hmm.. Depends. Are you measuring big? I always did and my baby didn't wear any NB. Some babies will be in NB for a month and some not at all. Maybe just grab a couple more cheap ones and get some more if you need to after baby arrives.

Also it depends on the baby! Like some commenter have said, some will need 5 new outfits a day if they are sicky or you get lots of blow outs. My baby never did, and because they don't sweat or get dirty, we could use the same outfit for a couple of days

I liked having lots of newborn clothes.  You are with the baby 24/7 and it is fun to see them cute and cozy in an outfit that fits. Carters has soft and affordable options.  My son wore newborn for over a month - that is a lot of days!  Plus you will prob take so many photos and want variety in the outfits!

Every single person I know had a baby in NB clothes. My son was 7 lbs and 0-3s were massive on him. He looked ridiculous in them. I don’t get why people say not to get NB. If you can afford it, I recommend it!

Personally I would wait to see how big he is in the hospital before going out and purchasing newborn if he’s too big for them. Ultrasound techs have told me he has long legs and he’s a little chunky for his gestation by estimated weight so I gave a couple newborn outfits and more 0-3 months that look a little smaller just to make up for any length or weight differences. But I was also waiting until after birth to get more of one size or the other so I wouldn’t waste any money

I had a 9lb baby. He fit newborn clothes for like, a week. You can buy more if you like but you can just roll up the sleeves of the 0-3s and you’re fine
