Anyone Co-Sleeping?

Question

Hey all! I know it's been posted before, but who all is co-sleeping?
I'm curious when you're looking to break the habit and how to go about it. 
Baby boy is almost 6 weeks and doesnt like to sleep without being held. If he is by himself he sleeps for about 15 minutes before waking up crying. Typically sleeps in his swing for 2 hours during nap time.

Baby sleeps in a swing next to my bed at night but if he’s especially grumpy or gassy, I just let him in bed with me. I plan to start sleep/crib training around 4-6 months. I actually sleep better when he’s in the bed with me but I try not to let him do it too often. He has an owlet sock so I don’t worry so much. 
*yes I know babies shouldn’t sleep in swings or in bed, no need to mom-shame*

We bedshare. I always swore I wouldn't, but we all sleep better/longer this way. She'll sleep in her pack n play or rocker from 9-midnight while my husband and I shower, eat, watch a movie and cuddle, then at midnight she eats and goes in bed with us. It's easier to breastfeed and I sleep better knowing she is next to me and I can hear her if something is wrong (I'm partially deaf from an old abusive relationship). Do whatever works best for you, I've come to realize that it doesn't matter what other people say is best for your child...if you want to let them sleep by you, go ahead because they're only going to be little for so long.

I feed her and burp her and let her sleep on my chest 5/10 minutes to make sure she’s actually asleep and then I lay her in the dock a tot right next to me.... this thing has been a life saver. Never had it with my first and I actually get quality sleep 👏🏻👏🏻
With my first I took her out of our room slowly, no naps in the room at first (only in her crib in her room) and then I put her in the crib in her room around 5 months but honestly I rubbed back or belly to sleep and slept on the floor the first night 😂😂😂 she was an easy kid though, this one I’m sure will put up a fight lol

Don't let people mom shame you. There is no evidence that bedsharing is bad for your baby if done safely (only if breastfeeding, on firm bed, away from adult blankets, no smokers, no drinking by adults in the bed, etc.). It's actually much safer to do it intentionally rather than accidentally falling asleep with the baby in a chair or couch or bed not planning for it, which is how most babies get into trouble. Japan has the highest bed sharing rate and the lowest SIDS rate.  Do what works for you to get everyone the most sleep so you can be an effective parent in the daytime.

I bedshared for 9 months with my first and then transitioned to a floor bed in her own room because she hated the crib.
I'm on my second child and she'll sleep in her Next2Me for the first stretch of sleep at night and then she's in bed with me. I plan to move her at 9 months too.

We co-sleep (don’t bed share). She sleeps in her SNOO next to our bed and soon we will move her SNOO into her nursery before transitioning into her crib at 4 months. 
When we travel she still sleeps in her SNOO sack and then her doc a tot with sound machine. (Current set up - we are at the beach on vacation) She’s 7 weeks on Monday and sleeps 9pm-5am (to eat) and then back to sleep until 7am now. We follow Moms on Call. Everyone is happy and healthy. 
*she was born at 36 weeks. We woke her up to feed for the first two weeks and then moved into the MOC schedules and guidelines.

I’m sure you’ve heard this a lot but have you tried swaddling? My baby actually hated it before but then I tried again when he was 6 weeks old, before every feeding I would put him in and then he’d go into a deep sleep when he was done.
It made him feel like I was still holding him. I would also swaddle with a pacifier in his mouth for fussy nights.
They make cribs that self swing which turned out to be a life saver as well, especially with added vibration and music.

We are like half/half. She sleeps in her pack n play until about midnight, wakes up for food, sleeps in it again until 4 when my husband wakes up for work and is too noisy. At 4 is when she goes in the bed with me until her brothers wake us up at 6:30. If she wakes in her own before 4 I’ll put her in then bed then too. I’m hoping to just keep this going and slowly giver her more and more alone sleep time. I’m hoping by 4 months she will be in her own bed 100%. That when we will put her in her own room.
