Mother in law visiting
Ladies, I’m having some issues with comments my MIL has been making. I’m not sure if she realizes they are uncomfortable. Ever since my baby was born she makes bizarre comments about infant death, etc. “Don’t sleep at night when the baby is asleep because he can stop breathing and die” She also always compares my son to her 6 children. “My child did this when that happened.” “This happened to me when I had my child.”
I have told my husband to talk to her since I don’t want to come off as rude since she is easily offended so that she understands I am doing things my way and not hers.
Yesterday she also showed up to my home unannounced. I’m not bothered by people showing up unannounced since I am usually home alone all day and enjoy human interaction. Anyways, my baby was asleep and as soon as she arrived she did everything possible to wake him up only because she wanted to see him awake. She would take his socks off, take his blanket off, move him around etc. He eventually woke up and didn’t go back to sleep during his usual sleep schedule I’ve been trying to get him into. Because of this he was fussy and didn’t sleep through the night as he has been.
Any advice? I don’t want to come off As being rude but I also feel like it’s common sense to respect people’s boundaries.
