Holding bottles?

Question

Have your babies started holding their bottles yet? Formula or breast milk it doesn't matter I just want to know if they are holding it yet. My mom seems to think he should be holding it already but I dont know.

I know that our Pediatrician asked me that- if we used bottles and if my LO could hold it but I would think a bottle would be pretty heavy! We don’t use bottles so I didn’t inquire about it further but your post made me think. The Pediatrician didn’t seem concerned either way anyway, I think just curious? 🤷‍♀️ Does your LO grasp toys? I would think that is something to look for more so than a full bottle.

My daughter tries, but she ends up dropping it and doesn’t really understand how to keep it in her mouth. She often has her hands on the bottle when we feed her, but if we let go, she drops it. She’s breastfed and gets pumped breastmilk while I work.

My boy gets boob & bottled formula. As soon as he figured out how to hold his bottle, he started REFUSING to let us hold it. He just takes it from us and does his thing lol. 
He's 6.5 months, and has been holding his own bottle for about a month consistently.

Mine try to occasionally, but it’s definitely not consistent. I wouldn’t worry about it.

My son will hold his small 5 oz bottles when full but not a 9 oz bottle. He even reaches for it and will grab it out of my hands 😂

My son can but doesn’t. Every once in awhile he will put his hands on it but not the entire feeding. We also have one with handles and he will only hold on to that one for a short time as well.
