I’m getting a Colposcopy tomorrow and I’m so nervous 😭 what exactly will they do?

I read this as colonoscopy and then all the comments about how it hurt and I thought “I was knocked out during mine what kind of doctors are you fools going to!!!” But then I realized I misread the title and I’m the fool 😂

It doesn't hurt, it's a little uncomfortable when they investigate. I would advise taking painkillers before the appointment as when I had my first one done they needed to take a biopsy which is uncomfortable.
Don't worry, it is all for a good reason!

Your overthinking it like I did and I was so nervous and panicky .. I cried before I went haha but I felt silly after because it was absolutely fine just a little pinch and all done. You'll be fine just dont overthink it. Xxx

I had a biopsy with mine so that part hurt the worst. It was a large pinch. Otherwise it was as uncomfortable as a Pap smear.

The actual exam doesn’t hurt, they just look around. If they take a biopsy, I’m not gonna lie it really sucks but it’s super super quick. They just pinch a tiny bit of tissue off.

They Insert a spectrum to open the vagina a little and then Insert a camera into the vaginal opening I had a colposcopy didn’t hurt one bit :). X
