Pack n play

I got a pack n play as a gift for my baby shower. My mom was supposed to be giving us a bassinet but apparently that’s not happening. I was thinking of just using the bassinet Insert of the pack n play instead of buying a bassinet. Would it be best to just buy a bassinet or just use the pack n play?
