Is getting induced bad as well as the pain?

My sister will be getting induced tonight. I don’t know much about that. But I hope and pray the baby and her come out safe 🙏🏼
Is the pain worse? Or why does that happen ? Can you choose not to get induced?

It depends on why she is getting induced. I was induced due to pre eclampsia so not a choice for me. It also depends on what they use to induce. Cervidil is a much milder and slower induction process (it's a gel placed inside the vagina). Then there is pitocin, it is given through an iv and it can cause quicker and more painful contractions. If the contractions are coming too fast, they can easily turn down the pitocin and they should lessen. My sister had an awful induction process with her first. Her second went much smoother, and my induction process also went very well.

My only induction ended in a csection because my daughter couldnt shift herself to proper positioning and the doctors couldnt get her there either.
The pain wasnt worse but I didnt progress past about 2.5cm over more than a day. It may be worse later in labor. Having my water broken was awful. They shove a hook up there and grab the bag and pull it open. It's WAY  more painful than it sounds. If your sisters labor progresses, they might not have to do that.   
In sone instances, like mine, induction is better because it allows them to monitor the baby and mother and interfere if needed. Sometimes it's unnessasary like when the mother is just tired of being pregnant.

Mine ended in a c-section.  I was induced because of preeclampsia.  My son heart rate keep dropping with my contractions.  I don’t know if the pain is worse because I have only had the one labor. I’m sure she is doing what is best for the baby and herself. ￼￼

Some people react differently. Some it works wonders. Others it leaves them numb, unable to push and therefore needing a c-section. Understand she is making her own (hopefully) informed choice to do her birth this way. Her doctors are there for her if anything happens.

It was a breeze for me as well. My first labor was much worse and I was not induced that time. With my second I was induced and it was quick and easy. They started things at 8:30 am and baby was born at 1:16. It took 16 minutes to push her out. With my first it took 3 hours of pushing so my induced labor was much easier. Everyone is different though so only way to know how it will be for her is to wait and see. I hope it goes smoothly.

Everyone’s different. I got induced and it was a breeze. First time mom, 4 hour labor, started at 1cm, pushed for 20 mins, baby is out healthy and so am I 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I’ve also heard some people being induced ended in a csection. Everyone’s different.
