Your period is not an excuse to not do normal life things

Depends. Some people have medical conditions that are worsened by their periods or get horrible symptoms. So it really irks me when people say this, because not everyone experiences the same things when theyre on their period.

It's not an excuse but people like myself with endometriosis and PCOS it makes normal life a living hell but I push through everyday because I need money and my daughter needs a mommy.

Depends on the person tbh every period is different. Some months I’m able to function completely fine & go out & have fun & all while on my period & them some months I have a cycle that lands me in bed the first two days completely drained from the heaviness. Not everyone has a light or painless period so this isn’t completely accurate.

Most months my period is fine and I can function normally but every so often I get really bad ones where it feels like something is trying to claw it's way out of my body and I have a high ass pain tolerance so I know I'm not just being a little bitch about it. People who have this mentality that periods do not affect your life are why so many women dont know that they have real medical issues because they think that they just have to grin and bear it and they're told they're just exaggerating about their pain and people dont take them seriously. Its unhealthy.

The first day of my period I’m curled on the bathroom floor, alternating between throwing up and trying to relax so the pain lessens.  I am not about to do the dishes or laundry or work

Some people are fine, some people get rather sick from their period.

sometimes my cramps get so bad that i throw up so in that case it can be a little hard to do normal every day things, but if its not that bad then i can manage
