Free birth?

Anyone ever have a free birth at home no medical doctors or midwife ?

Yes. There is a group on here for unassisted birth, but to say it is dead is an understatement. My 15M old was born at home intentionally unassisted. I will be doing the same come January for my current babe.

I had an unassisted home birth due to the speed of which my 3rd baby came. I would not do one intentionally as there is a lot of things regarding labour, delivery and afterbirth that could go wrong they have the skills to help also it is helpful to have someone there to care for you and baby. 
I have super wonderful midwives that are helpful and very knowledgeable giving guidance throughout and help for after (nursing baby’s has been tough for me). They also are as hands off as I would like to be so they can just be in the room observing while I do the rest if I so chose. 
With all that said I would never not have a midwife on purpose during delivery.

I I have a few friends who have done this... no way would I personally ever do this, I used a midwife and did home births and I think that was brave enough. My second birth I started hemmoraging and without a midwife I would have potentially died, I also had severe tearing and the midwife stitched me up, I also had a “structure” and needed to be catheterized and again my midwife could do this... my midwife kept me out of the hospital and I got to have great births at home without worry.

I almost had a free birth lol. Midwife came as I was pushing. She only only there 4 minutes then baby was there.

I had a perfect pregnancy and a complicated birth. I can appreciate why a free birth would be wonderful and yet think the expertise of a dr or midwife are very valuable. Nobody wants to be that rare case etc. my son would have died without medical intervention. He’s currently a perfectly healthy 2.5 year old 💙
