Can getting the flu shot cause the flu?

So my husband went to get the flu today. But he was scared telling me that he’s never been sick before and that now he’s worried he’ll catch the flu with the shot he received today. He said he barely gets colds and any other kind of sickness. He thinks maybe if he did get the flu he was a child but that’s about it. He scared me and now i’am thinking what happens if it does cause him the flu or gets him sick with a bad cold.

No. But it does take 2 weeks for it to become fully effective. So you’re still susceptible to getting the flu up to 2 weeks after getting the shot.

Here's the full story. They give you a dead virus so you can't get the flu from the shot. You can get a different flu/illness, or you can experience an immune response. Many of the symptoms we get when we are sick aren't from the actual illness, but from our immune system trying to protect us from the illness. You're given the shot to sort of train your immune system to fight the illness if you catch it in the future. My grandma got the shot , and then got the flu. 
Not sayin he should not get it.  But my grandma lives in sunny Florida so it was very odd.

It cant but I got really sick from it. High temp and all that goodness. I'm allergic to it also and it was for a job. I have only got it once never got the flu in my entire life. Not getting it while pregnant either. Tdap yes flu no.

No but mine have mocked some symptoms the day or two after getting . I also have a very weak immune system though.
