I had thick white discharge, I know it's a sign of ovulation. That means my period should be here next week?

White discharge is typically not fertile discharge but can be a sign your period is coming since you're no longer in your fertile phase

Thick white discharge isn't really the type of CM you get during ovulation. If you are then you're either not ovulating or your CM needs help.
The CM around ovulation should be watery or egg white in consistency. This is the type of CM sperm can travel through. It can't travel through thick white, so therefore your body doesn't product that kind of CM when you're ovulating.
