Anyone here a hockey fan ? I need advice lol

So my man is a die hard avalanche fan !

And all season he's been unable to watch the games on tv due to some feud between the channel companies (i don't know much other than the channel saying the game is unavailable to watch) so i was thinking for his bday in January i could get him tickets to see it live !

Well I'm looking into buying tickets and i cannot figure out what section would be best ? I've heard that seats opposite of the players box are good but i have absolutely no clue lol.

OH & if it would be the two of us & our 2 month old son, would i have to buy our son a ticket too ? Even tho he'd be just in our laps ?
