Will they offer an early scan?

Had a miscarriage in may and got our BFP today, does anyone have experience of the nhs offering early scans? Im4 weeks going off my last period date so the thought of wauting8 more is so scary!

Hi, I would definitely call your EPU as everywhere is different. I had a miscarriage in May and they told me to call them when I was pregnant again at about 7 weeks and they would book me in for a scan. I'm now 10 weeks and had an early scan at 7.5 weeks.

Hi i had a miscarriage in Feb last year and again in July last year im currently 26 weeks pregnant now. I live in wales and after miscarriages got told any future pregnancy would be monitored very closely and be scanned early. This is now not the case apparently as i found out when i got pregnant this time. I was so disappointed and upset as i felt i needed to be checked closer and felt they didnt care. Only way to be scanned early i got told was to get private scan done.

This depends on what area you live in. I’ve found in London you have more chance of finding a walk in EPU

I had a full term still birth in May this year, I’m not 13+5 weeks and wasn’t offered an early scan though there will be more monitoring from 22 weeks. 
I know it’s not the same as a miscarriage but I had to wait for a 12 weeks scan. (I’m in the uk)
You could try calling your local epu and asking them? Just explain you’re feeling anxious after last time. I can’t say it will work but might be worth a try?

Depends when you lost the baby - how far along you were. 
I think it depends where you live and what happened before. 
I’m high risk whenever I get pregnant and now I’ve had a late missed miscarriage last year ill get 2 early scans

There was a lady who I was talking to got offered a early scan but she said because she had multiple miscarriages. It’s something you have to find out from your midwife appointment. Congratulations hun.

Unfortunately I think that's unlikely to get one on the NHS (unless you have 3 or more miscarriages) but lots of places do now offer private scans.

No hun they won’t offer an early scan. You can pay privately for one from 6 weeks which I believe is £60 but until 3 miscarriages they don’t do very much

I got offered an early viability scan at my NHS EGU because of an Ectopic last year. The issue is you need to be know to them  or referred by GP (so ok their files). Also they will only scan you from 6 weeks when it’s possible to see a heartbeat, I’d even say wait until 7 to avoid not seeing anything on the first visit. This year when I got pregnant I simply went private for my viability at 7weeks due to a few stressful situations of how the NHS handled my last missed miscarriage. Now all fine and 17 weeks ❤️.
