Weaning past 12 months
Here's the scenario. I'm 7 months pregnant and have a 12 month old who is nursing before bed. She just dropped the morning (prebreakfast) nursing session a couple of weeks ago. Because I'm pregnant, my nipples are super sensitive again, so nursing my girl isn't as enjoyable for me anymore.
She's eating three meals a day as well as a couple of snacks, drinking primarily water because she doesn't like cow's milk yet, even if I dilute it with pumped breast milk. She sleeps the whole night (PRAISE!)
I'd like to wean her for several reasons.. 1 she seems to be ready; 2 I seem to be ready; 3 I don't especially want to tandem nurse.
However, I feel conflicted and guilty because breast milk is good for her, and I don't want to hold out on her. And I believe I will miss our time together when she does wean.
