First, I can say I respect those who do try to make others aware of this issue, or try to comfort those in this situation.
However, while it is true, this is not the way to do it. As someone who’s been there before that’s not something you want to tell people struggling. They know that they would cause others pain, and want to most likely avoid that, but they chose suacide because whatever negative thoughts and feelings they had outweighed that knowledge. 
That, as unreasonable as it might sound to people who’ve not experienced such feelings, is going to make them feel guilty and possibly drive that knife of (depression, sadness, hurt, loneliness etc) further into the wound, metaphorically speaking. I respect people trying to be supportive but instead of this sign, how about “if you want someone to talk to here...” and reach out. Or put suacide prevention hotline “this pain and suffering feels never ending, wave after wave, but it will get better with some help” 
People suffering don’t want to die... they just see no other choice. They act secluded but really want someone to talk to and understand them. Talking to suacide prevention hotline is a freakin horrifying experience. Worrying you will be judged is a daily worry. So please support those people by just being there, and being open. Don’t pretend you understand the pain of you haven’t experienced it, but be empathetic.
Sorry to go on for so long, and sorry if some people disagree. But this simply my opinion on the subject, and you don’t have to agree with me.
