Any SAHM with acrylic nails?

I cook, I clean, but I want nice nails too. Nothing crazy long, something like the length in this photo. I've had acrylics many many times, but I'm about to have our first baby and I don't know if it'll be too much/too expensive to upkeep with cooking, cleaning, and now a baby. If you get them done, how do you keep them looking nice? I'm not trying to go to the salon every week.

I do dip nails at home. They are still acrylic but way easier to do and maintain. Such a money saver

File the edges so they’re not sharp (usually the first couple days after you get them done) and when you’re wiping a baby butt, try to use more of the palm/flat of your finger instead of your finger tips to avoid scratching through the wipe. Acrylics are nice for picking boogers out of baby noses. Open can tabs with a spoon and always make sure you clean under your nails when you wash. 💁🏽‍♀️ been wearing acrylics since forever, I have a 6 yr old and a 15 month old

I get acrylic over my real nails they last longer. I don’t have to go to salon in about 4 to 5 weeks. And chips within the last week or 2 of me going. I cook I clean My hands are in water literally all day! They are fine!!

i’m a stay at home mom and i’ve had acrylics since i was 18. becoming a mom they didn’t bother me, the only thing is it’s costly so learn to do them yourself at home

Tbh to cut cost you could maybe learn to do them yourself at home? I’ve done my own a few times and it’s not that hard. I would personally wait til after baby gets here to do them or get them done just so you don’t accidentally scratch baby before you have “the hang” of things

The only problem is with a newborn I made that mistake with my first and it was so hard to handle her carefully I scratched her a couple times on accident. I never got em again with any of my kids till they were older and easier to handle
