He still managed to surprise me...
On the 26th, my significant other and I celebrated our two year anniversary. By celebrated, I mean we snuggled on the couch, watching Spider-Man: Far From Home and eating chicken wings. I told him it was the perfect anniversary, because for me it was.
We became parents this past year, which has changed our lives and relationship. He works a lot, and his job can get very stressful at times. I cherish the small moments of quality time we spend together. I stay home with our beautiful daughter, but it can be so exhausting! I cherish the moments after she falls asleep and I get to relax a bit.
I was kind of disappointed I didn’t get a thoughtful card or some flowers. I had mentioned he hadn’t gotten me any flowers in a while. I secretly had hoped I would get some.
Yesterday, he went to the Chiefs game (hey, that game went better than expected, you try using your back up, back up quarterback!). I stayed home with our daughter and watched on TV in the warmth. He recently helped me understand football, and now I look forward to watching it with him every week! He texted me to tell me how he missed me and wished I could have gone to the game too. ❤️
He got home late, and I was in bed. This morning, I stumble out of bed at the usual 06:30, already exhausted and ready to prepare for the day. I enter the dining room, and am greeted with this...

This brings my heart so much joy, and I was so caught off guard! He knew how much I had wanted my very first jersey ever! It may not be what most consider the perfect anniversary, but it swept me off my feet all over again.
...and you can’t get much fancier than Mahomes! ❤️
