I spend $1400/month on groceries that feed 6 people. If I get food elsewhere it’s usually an oh shit I literally don’t have time to cook moment. Taking 6 people out to eat regularly would cost a fortune. Just eating burgers and fries costs like $70+.

I try to only eat out once a week, and that’s 10 bucks every time I go.
BUT recently with this new job i eat on the way home every time I get off work cause it’s a longg shift, an that’s 6 days every two weeks.   So bout 60 a paycheck just to food.
My eat out cost has gone up but As of this week I’m gonna start bringing 2 meals to work for when I get off.  Maybe a sandwich just to hold me over till I get home. 
There’s all kindsa ways to cut money where needed, just gotta look.
