DOG/work life??

So I’m thinking about getting a dog when I move out, I’ll be living by myself and the protection/company seems nice. I already have a cat. Im willing to get the dog trained for protection.

The only thing I’m worried about is I work 36 hours a week, and I’m a student and spend roughly 4 hours a week at school. So I’m basically gone 40 hours a week give or take.

Is that to much time to be away from a dog?

I know people with full time jobs have dogs but I’m just wondering if this is an okay amount of time to be away from your dog. I don’t want it to get depressed or anything.

PS I work nights, so it’ll be sleeping when I’m gone
