Dialation at 36 weeks?

Question

Is it normal to be dialed 1cm this early? I’m exactly 36 weeks and had my doctors appointment today, when she checked my cervix she said I was 1cm and 50% effaced, I don’t remember being dialed until 38 weeks with my first (this is now my second). My doctor didn’t seam to express concern just asked about contractions, but my sister said to pack my hospital bags soon.

Totally normal. You could walk around 1-4 cm dilated for weeks before baby actually comes. Best of luck!

Yep, normal... some ppl dilate earlier. As long as your Dr isn’t concerned don’t worry

It's normal and doesn't mean much.
I was about 1cm dilated at 36 weeks, I went till 40 weeks still at 1cm. Water broke on its own but still had to be induced

I’m 28 and dilated to a 1cm but I also had preterm labor last time.

Totally normal. I’m 36+1 and 2cm and last I was checked was 70% thinned.

I was dilated to 3 with my first at 36 weeks and stayed that way until I was induced. My second I was 2cm. And 4 at my 38 week check a couple days before I was induced again
