Not going to lie, i am honestly surprised that the majority of women got an epidural. 
Not shaming in any way, to each their own, im simply surprised. For some reason, i guess that it was the other way around. 
I was induced and chose not to do any pain medication but I sometimes think about it and wish i had been more open to other opinions of pain medication like IV meds. It was my second birth without pain meds but being induced was a whole different experience. 
If i ever have another child, i will be more open to pain medication and plan to do EVERYTHING in my power to avoid another induction 🤣

Yep! About 16 hours into a 27 hour labor I begged for it. I had extreme back labor though. It was about 3pm and I hadn't slept in about 33 hours so I was completely exhausted. Unfortunately it had almost worn off by the time she arrived, but there was enough to dull the pain thankfully.

No. I used gas and air for my last 4 or 5 contractions then they took me off the gas to push. I had a moment of sheer terror  I thought to myself I fucked up I should have got the epidural! I can't even tell you the pain! The nurses kept telling me to push when I had no contractions I ended up telling them no I'm not pushing right now I'm waiting forvthe next one. She was out in 5 pushes! At that point I was greatful not to have the epidural my pushes were pretty effective because I could feel them.

We did a homebirth! The shower, helped, as did being on hands & knees and bracing my body against the side of the bed as the contractions came. The pain is a game of endurance, finding the best way to get through this contraction only and not fearing the next.

Technically no- I had a planned c section and they gave me a spinal block instead of an epidural.
With my first I was induced and asked for an epidural after a few hours of labor. The relief was wonderful.

I was induced, but labor was only about 14 hours total, and about the 12 hour mark I needed it because I was getting worn out during progression. It only took on half my body, so I had a booster and it worked. Tooka nap, woke up fully dilated and partially crowning, but couldn't feel a thing, pushed twice and baby was here! Afterward, it wore off one side of my body, but the numbness grew on my left side. I thought I had a stroke, and it took about 3 hours for it to wear off completely. If I have another one, I'm not getting an epidural.

I needed to push in the car on the way to the hospital. I’m just glad I delivered my son in the hospital and not the car. It was painful without the epidural but it was so worth it. All the pain went away after he came out and I didn’t need any pain medication after. I was also up and walking around 45 minutes after having him. It was so much better without an epidural. I had an epidural with my first just because I was scared
