When to have sex

I know that it’s not an exact science. But, what are the basics are the best chances of conception? Everyday of “ovulation” or every other day? Everyday for a month? That type of thing. Thanks!

When I got pregnant with my first one I remember I was only working 10-15 hrs at the mall and going to school so we had time to ourselves and we would have a lot of sex probably like 5xs a day everyday and that’s how we got pregnant. We are trying for #2 now for 3 months and still nothing we are only having sex once a day at night I’m not sure if that has something to do. I guess all bodies work differently

Ovulation only lasts 1 day. You’re supposed to have sex every other day during your fertile week, which is the 3-5 days prior to ovulation, and then the day of. You can pin point your ovulation day by using OPKs and/or tracking BBT. 
If you have irregular periods though, it’s recommended to just have sex every 2-3 days all month.
