Birthday party

Anybody else already planning your LO birthday parties? What are you guys doing? My sons birthday party is December 27th and I want to ask the guest/family members not to give us toys but gift cards instead. Is that too much? We are doing Montessori at home and I don’t think he needs all those unnecessary toys if that makes sense. Or any other recommendations are welcome too ♥️
