Heaters for the winter ?

Not a product for kids but I was wondering what type of heaters are safe to use overnight ? And what ones everyone recommends ? We have wall heaters that are super old and don’t really heat the house well, and I’m iffy about leaving them on overnight ! I rent and they say no space heaters allowed so not sure what to do.

If it's only for evenings/bedroom you could look into an electric blanket. My sister lived in basically an unheated porch in Chicago during college and looooved her electric blanket.

I leave my heater on overnight. 
And I’m pretty sure they can’t control if you use space heaters. I used them when I rented for 4 years.
