Is it bad that I am 19 and have not had a real job yet?

I am 19. I just graduated from high school a couple months ago and have just started college. My grades are not the best even though I was an A student in highschool. College is so much harder. I tryed to get a job at the subway in my area but there were very few employees there and they spoke different lauguages. My boss was indian and had such a strong accent that I could barely understand what he wanted me to do. So I quit working there. I feel like a loser.

everyone goes at their own pace! maybe try gig jobs? don't give up :) it might help to look into a job related to your major and/or intended career. a lot of companies hire remote interns

I didn't start working till I was 20 so don't worry you'll find the right job. I have bad anxiety so it was very hard for me to go to work every day. The holidays are coming so every place will be looking for seasonal help. Depending on what you want. Most clothing stores will be hiring extra help for Christmas and most department stores. Put In your applications now so your ahead of everyone. I even think restaurants would be hiring a lot too if you'd like to be a hostess or a waitress.

I’ve worked at a couple flower shops... that’s about it. I’ve never had a full time job. I got married at 17 fresh out of high school. I’m now 19 and own my own business... kinda. I make close to $700 on a good month, sometimes nothing on the off season. It’s not about how fast you move, it’s the efficiency. My husband recently took a $3 pay cut from an already dingy pay because he put himself in a job that eventually he can grow in! Tough it out, kid, it gets better. We’ve been married for over a year and still occasionally live off ramen. It’s just the gateway into adulthood. You’re young. Stay vigilant and persistent and you’ll get to where you need to be, just don’t give in. Go for the jobs you truly want and don’t take no for an answer. We’re starting with crumbs. And technically I’ve never had a “real” job. Just turns out that I’m not cut out for working for other people
