Any August baby yet to start potty training? My little one is still not quite verbal/communicating so don’t know how effective potty training would even be

I have attempted about 5 times now. She refuses the tiny toilets and so I finally got a seat for the big toilet. Only now for her to scream that she wants a diaper on. 🤦🏼‍♀️ she will scream and cry until I let her down. I don’t get it....

My boy doesn’t communicate very well either. We started trying at bath time just holding him on the toilet and he pees haha guess just from watching he figured it out and we praise him a lot. Daycare tried to train him more but he wasn’t into it so we just try to have him pee on the toilet whenever we can

We're about to have new babies in the house so we're waiting until he adjusts to that and will probably start in feb or March

My son has been potty trained since July. The last month or so he has stayed dry overnight so we got rid of pull-ups. I feel like we just hit a sweet spot at 22 months and it was easy. My son wasn’t saying”no” to everything yet 🤣 we also did it during summer so he was naked outside the whole time basically. My husband was home to help and they played a big part. Good luck!!

She does her morning ‘mega pee’ and occasionally will go number 2 in her potty but it’s definitely not consistent. I do trust her a little more after the bath not to put her diaper on right away. She knows not to go if she’s not in a pull-up. 
She loved to pee outside like our doggie during the summer haha. When she was on her bathing suit. She will also pee in the shower. Definitely a long slow process.

He goes when he wants and we don’t push him. My oldest was very advanced with communication and verbal skills BUT still didn’t fully potty train until almost 3. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm trying to follow what I read, it makes lots of sense to me and I saw it work well. Wait for them to be ready, actually ready: physically and mentally able and cooperative. From what I've seen around me with other kids, this usually happens between 2-3rd birthday but inside that there's great variation. Any pushiness greatly backfired so we're very very patient.
My daughter got interested in the potty and toilet over the summer, she wanted panties, and we gave it a try. In the end it was very interesting for her for a couple of days and again a few weeks later and then a third time a few weeks later again, but when she felt like she tried it all (used both the potty and the toilet for different kinds of businesses, soiled her panties, peed on the carpet, etc) she lost interest. 
Soon after she discovered the power of saying no to things 😂 and now she always says no anytime I ask about the potty or the toilet. We also had about 6-8 weeks of her hiding the poop and denying soiled diapers, but we got over that thankfully.
I remember her cousins having similar phases ultimately developing into a genuine interest and cooperation, so now I'm waiting for that part. Until then, I'm persistent at telling her over every poopy diaper that it's better to poop on the potty or toilet and if she tells me she needs to go I'll help her, and asking her if she wants to use them whenever I notice she has business to do. She tells me no every time nowadays and I'm doing my best to kindly and patiently accept that. Very rarely she wants to try the potty, and I'll help her and be supportive and happy about it.
Right now I'm just waiting for the big step. Her cousins behaved pretty much the same at the same age, then switched from diapers to the potty in a few days when they decided it was time. I can't wait for that 😂

My daughter has been potty trained since she was 18 months old, but based on most of what I’ve seen in previous posts on this group that’s not the norm. We still have to change her undies a couple times a day most days because she’ll get distracted and forget to tell us she needs to go until it’s too late so she gets a little leak in her undies but it’s been a good couple months since the last major accident. She’s also dry at night which I’ve read is super unusual, most kids are still wetting the bed or in diapers or pull ups at night until like 4-5 years. So we’ve got a little steel bladder over here 😂

My pediatrition said potty training starts between age 2 and 3. If you push it and they're not ready it can cause problems such as UTI. I'm waiting for my son to show more interest. We talk about it a little bit but he is simply not ready at this point and that is ok! We have time!
