Is it safe to eat deli meats while pregnant?

Is it safe to eat deli meats, cold cuts or things like that? Just got a ham sandwich at the deli and now I’m second guessing if I should eat it. Please help! Is it that bad?? Or should I be fine????

Cold deli can contain listeria, that's why they say to heat it up. I eat cold deli meats and have with my other 3 pregnancies. But if you're not comfortable with it then don't.

I have been told as long as you heat up the meat you will be fine

In the U.K. we are allowed to eat any type of deli meat apart from cured meats (cause they haven’t been cooked) other than that it’s totally fine 🤷🏻‍♂️ I dont know why it’s different in the US.

My doctor told me to especially watch deli meats right now because there has been recent cases of listeria in deli meats recently according to her. If I must have it she told me to make sure it’s steaming hot prior to eating it.
