Induction timeline

Am I crazy? I'm being induced next Thursday on the 14th at 5p....exactly 38wks because of GD and high BP. Was hoping to go til 39wks, but I get it.

My husband is having a rough time at work with a new boss and I told him that once we know the process and plan for induction when we get settled on the 14th, that I'm ok with him going to work on the 15th.

I'm not effaced or dilated, so I have a feeling the process will take some time, but have been reading lots of stories lately of women getting induced and having the baby before the end of the day. My hubby will be on high alert and ready to leave at a moment's notice on Friday, but I'm catching a lot of flack from family that says he just needs to be there all day on Friday "just in case". After Friday he's on leave and will be there with me full time, if it's an uneventful day on Friday I just would feel bad making him call off work and potentially causing more issues with his boss. I plan on being in constant contact with him Friday and just don't see an issue with it. I know he will be there as soon as I need him.

Am I crazy to be ok with this?
