Genetic testing

We had our first fertility appointment today after my partners 2 SA contained no sperm. He had a physical examination and everything felt normal the doctor said. His bloods have been sent away for genetic testing and for cystic fibrosis. Does anyone know much about this or what I should expect? I assume if bloods all come back normal it means there is sperm there it just can’t get out. They said it will be about 10 weeks until the results are back. I’d appreciate any info anyone has as I feel pretty clueless and not sure what to even search online. Thanks in advance xx
