Did Metformin work for you?

metformin didn’t help regulate my period so i was just sick all of the time for nothing. i’m now on my third round of clomid.

I was on it for years I finally got off it because the side effects came back and could no longer go to the bathroom properly a few months after I stopped I got pregnant but miscarried. It's been s year since I've been off it.

I took metformin alone for a few months and had no results. Took it alongside a thyroid medication as well as femara pregnant the third month with the combination of all 3! Good luck!!

I’ve been on 1500 mg of metformin since September and haven’t had a period. But I had a hysteroscopy and a d&c today to remove scar tissue. I didn’t see my doctor after the procedure but she told my husband I had a lot of scar tissue which she was able to remove. Starting tomorrow she wants me to up my dose of metformin to 2000 mg per day. I’m hoping that and the surgery helps regulate my cycles.

Metformin usually only helps if you actually need it. Often, OBGYNS will prescribe it if all else fails to see if it will help regulate your cycles. 
I have PCOS and am fortunate to not need Metformin. However, we did try it to see if it would work (took a lot of pushing from me since I seen women have success with it). Didn't work so I opted for surgery.
