Need an opinion (relationship advice)🙄

So I wanted to kinda go on here instead of freaking out on my boyfriend right away I wanted some opinions. I may be overreacting but me and my boyfriend go to the same college and we usually hang out most of the time obviously not all day. And he leaves off campus with his friends to do stuff which I’m fine with. But sometimes he lacks communication and he’ll just be gone for hours and not tell me and just kinda leave me there hanging (in his room). I’m not trying to control him but I think a simple text like “hey me and blah blah are going somewhere to get this” would be better than just leaving me there hanging when I think he’ll be back soon when really he will be gone for hours . He’s a very forgetful person. And I think communication is a key to a relationship.
