Should I even try

so me and my boyfriend broke up in September because of problems and trust issues. In October we started just texting and talking and then recently we have met up and had sex 2 times in the past week. When we’re together he acts like how it was when we were dating but then today said keep it on the DL. He doesn’t wanna get back together and I’m not sure why he just says it’s not a good idea so should I ask him why he doesn’t think it’s a good idea? Like I want to know reasons here I don’t want to just here “it’s a bad idea”??? I want to tell him I love him and would do anything and change anything to prove to him I want him so bad but is it even worth it? Don’t judge me and say girl leave think about how I feel. I just want to show him I want him so bad so should I or no?
