Extra round of clomid (iui cycle)

Hi, everyone. I’m on my second iui cycle. Today was day 12 of my cycle, so they had me come in for an ultrasound to see if my follicles were mature. They weren’t close to mature, so they had me start 100 mg of clomid today for the next 5 days (I took 50 mg cycle days 5-9). This didn’t happen during my first iui cycle (which was ultimately not successful). During that cycle, my follicles were close to mature on day 12, so they had me come back on day 14 and they were happy with the size of the follicles, had me trigger on day 14, and then did the IUI 36 hours later. Since this wasn’t my experience the first cycle, I don’t have anything to compare it to, so I was wondering if any of you had to take additional clomid in a cycle you had already taken clomid.
