Boyfriend is currently incarcerated

So me and my boyfriend where friends with benefits for 4 years and about a year ago we decided to become exclusive that’s when he told me that he was currently going to court and possible could go to jail for 8-12 months well this past September he indeed went to prison so now I’m lonely and sexually frustrated. I have no clue how to handle this type of situation seeing that this is the first guy I’ve been in love with that has gone to jail. He quickly addressed the sex thing the other day but basically was like I hope you wouldn’t have sex with someone else but if you did I understand but I think he’s just saying that to save face idk what to do
