Labor

Casady • I’m 27, army wife and dog mom. Lost our first angel baby at 10 weeks, then struggled to conceive for 3 years, then had our rainbow May 2020 and now trying for his little sibling 💗🌈

So my sister gave birth last week she was induced because she had gestational diabetes and then preeclampsia so they admitted her and started induction. They started her on Pitocin and she was on it for like 30+ hours and her water was broke for at least 15 hours. Well she spiked a fever before giving birth, they checked her often to see how much she was dilating.. she finally dilated enough and then they had her start pushing and after about an hour her son was born, her OBGYN didn’t even show up until after the baby was out and he needed to stitch up my sister since she tore. But she had a hemorrhage that he had to control as well (which he never even told her she had a hemorrhage, one of the nurses later mentioned it to my mom) and she had an infection from what we assume from her water being broke for so long. Well a few days after getting home she had a fever again and had to go to the hospital and she has a UTI and Endometritis now too. This was her first pregnancy. My question is, was everything done right in her case? Seeing as she spiked a fever before she started pushing, she was on Pitocin for that amount of time, etc. She had a hard time especially afterwards and I just feel like personally her OB never even seemed to care much or acted like she was a priority and makes me feel like she didn’t receive the best care. I’m also 14 weeks pregnant and never delivered before and now this has terrified me more 😅
