Do your cats have scheduled feedings or all day free feeding?

Scheduled feedings for my cat since hes a fatty and will sit there and eat the whole bowl on a sitting. So he gets half for breakfast and half for dinner to help control his weight.we used to have an automatic feeder, but he figured it out and would lay there and hit it until food came out lol

We have scheduled feedings for 6 cats because my one has urinary tract blockage issues (it's life threatening) he can't have dry food at all so to just ease the risk they all get wet food twice a day. Sometimes once a day.

1.5 can of fancy feast classic wet food twice a day, usually 7am and 6/7pm. We had a diabetic cat with insulin injections and this is what we needed to do to stabilize her glucose. Other cats were fine with it. Was told fancy feast classic is one of the best foods for cats because it’s low carbs.

Nope. I fill her bowl up and it lasts for 3 days. She lets me know when it needs filled up again. I also check it every day. ❤

We used to do scheduled feedings with wet food but I found my cats would freak out of we didn’t wake up at the same time every day to feed them. Also, if we got up in the middle of the night to pee, they would start thinking it’s time to eat so they would harass us from midnight until we finally gave up and got up to feed them. One of our cats would be more greedy with the wet food and would eat half of the other cats portion when he finished. This would occasionally end up with him vomiting up the food because he ate too much. We stopped giving them wet food all together and just keep their bowls filled with dry nuggets. Lucky for us, our cats are good at self regulating when it comes to dry food. They are healthy weights and eat throughout the day. I noticed their behavior improved after we stopped giving them wet food. I guess everyone is different.

We schedule feedings so he doesn't become overweight. We used to leave food out and he would eat all day long. We noticed a big difference when we feed him on schedule, he's behavior is better also.
