Vegan tattoo advice?

Bailey

I know most tattoos aren't animal friendly. Before I was a vegan (I was a vegetarian still, but I was uneducated about the ingredients of tattoo ink) I got a dragon on my ankle that me and my artist had a hand in designing. I'm a SUPER big fan of tattoos as an art, and I'd love to get a new one dedicated to my son. I've designed it myself this time and I just can't wait to get it on me. Does anyone have any advice for how I can keep my art animal friendly? I know there are professional vegan artists, but the closest one to me is hours away. Would it be offensive if I ask a local artist to use vegan ink and offer to pay him/her a little extra in exchange? I don't want to do or say anything that may offend an artist.
