Excessive spotting

Anyone else been through insane amounts of spotting? I’m going crazy here.. stopped BC back in May so we could TTC. No luck on that front but the last two periods have had spotting that starts around ovulation and lasts 10-12 days until my period actually starts and lasts about 5 days and while I’m spotting I’m just so crampy. Talked to my DR last cycle it happened and they weren’t concerned or anything and blamed it on coming off BC but has this happened to anyone else? It’s really driving me nuts and making the TTC aspect difficult because my stomach and everything just hurt while I am and makes it difficult to have sex while I am.
