How did you start talking to your significant other?

Hello ladies of eve, 
I have a question, how did you guys start talking to your significant other when you didn’t know him/ her? How did you approach him/her and how did you know what to start the conversation with? 
I am currently trying to get the courage to talk to this guy but i never know how to start the conversation or what to say. I have never talked to him and we have no friends in common. He works in a store that I’ve gone into with the intention to talk to him but i don’t really know how to divert the conversation from talking about shoes to getting his number or anything else lol i need help!!!

My husband was my boss. I would have to ask him stuff anyway but that’s not like talking. The first time we really spoke to each other was him saying good morning to me. It went like this...
“Morning miss French” (my maiden name)
“Morning mr... dude what’s your last name?”
Long pause and a smoldering look
“Grey..”
A 50 shades reference for Christ sake. It was awkward and it just happened. 5 months later we got married. Girl just go for it. This dude you’re nervous to talk to could be your future husband

Yeah we grew up in the same neighborhood since we were little and then in middle school I didn’t really talk to him much but I told my bestfriend in 6th grade “yeah I’m gonna marry him” and then he actually started talking to me the next yr , now we are 21 and got married 8 months ago!

I was my husbands leader (military). I walked into a room and he was new I asked “who the hell are you” (not the best first words) 😭 and then a few months later became really close friends and then fell in love. Just ask if he wants to hang out or get a cup of coffee. The worst he San say is no and then you just don’t go there anymore. Just if he says no play it off with a smile and a “that’s fine”.

A few summers ago he'd hang at the skate park with all his biker friends & I'd hang out with my friends on the other side of the park. We were friends on Facebook but never talked in person although we'd see each other whenever we were there, I ended up dying my hair blue & he complimented my hair and we became friends after that & than caught feelings for each other but I ended up friendzoning him. We stopped talking for a year and than last December we got back in contact & after awhile we both started catching feelings for each other and had a thing for a few months and than made it official in June 😊😇
